Over three years ago, Playa del Carmen began its evolution toward becoming a cosmopolitan port of eclectic richness. From all over the world young entrepreneurs have been arriving in search of an ideal place to fulfill their dreams; they have found that place to be here in Playa del Carmen. 

Most shops and establishments are attended directly by the owners; therefore, the service in Playa's establishments is excellent. It is well known that the most exquisite food can be found in many corners of the Riviera Maya. 

Due to the great variety of cuisines and the influence of European and South American tourists, Playa has reached a level of quality in its international dishes that is on a par with the same dishes prepared in the countries of origin. For accommodation options, Playa del Carmen offers many alternatives.

In the relaxation of its casual restaurants, Playa has multiple options for breakfast and dinner, from the simple to the sophisticated: Italian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Mediterranean, and Mexican cuisines, and restaurants for particular diets such us Vegetarian and Natural.

Most of the businesses are located along the 5th Avenue (a pedestrian zone), although there are many nice surprises for the discovering on the adjacent streets.


From dusk until midnight, Fifth Avenue is filled with the most extravagant people, tourists and various locals who have finished work and come out "to wander" or to invite visitors into their shops. Take a seat in a café or restaurant on the 5th and watch the people pass by for a unique experience!
